At Eagle Pools, we can ensure the water in your home swimming pool is clean, chemically balanced, and safe for your family and friends to use with confidence.
But how much effort we put into maintaining your pool often is directly related to the quality of the water coming from your local water supply. If the water from your tap contains contaminants, we will have to use more chemicals and take other measures to ensure that it is clean enough to swim in.
Pool Service Boca Raton — What’s In Your Water?
Most communities in South Florida have clean, safe water supplies. But if your water is discolored, has an off taste, or smells unusual, it may contain contaminants.
If you believe your water supply is contaminated, you can contact your local water provider — usually this is the municipality in which you live — and ask them to test it. Most cities will do this for free.
If your city doesn’t provide free testing, you can hire an independent water testing lab to do it for you. The US Environmental Protection Agency has a list of state-certified laboratories that you can contact.
Pool Service Boca Raton — Filtering Your Water
In some cases, your pool technician may recommend that you use a water filter to purify your water before it gets into your swimming pool. For example, if you have hard water, it can cause calcification which will decrease the life expectancy of some of your pool equipment.
If your water contains contaminants and the city isn’t going to do anything about it, you can get an all-house water filter that can purify the water used for your pool, as well as for drinking, showering, washing your clothes, and more.
If you aren’t sure what kind of water filter you need, the National Sanitation Foundation has compiled a list of certified filters and the contaminants they remove.
